Tuition Fees & Cost of Living

Budget in UAE dirhams (AED). The following are published examples checked in October 2026, rather than a Dubai-wide fee range. Confirm the fee for your intake and the number of subjects you will take.

University of Wollongong in Dubai: its bachelor’s fee page lists Computer Science at AED 63,449 per year and Engineering (Honours) at AED 68,909 per year, including 5% VAT. Annual charges vary with subject enrolment. View the official bachelor’s fee schedule.

Heriot-Watt University Dubai: MSc Software Engineering lists AED 107,484 for the full-time January 2027 intake, including VAT. The published full-time duration is one year. Check the course and fee details.

Accommodation example: Middlesex University Dubai’s living-cost guide quotes approximately AED 2,600 monthly for a double room, AED 4,200 for a single room and AED 4,800 for a studio at The Myriad, based on a 6–12 month stay. These are indicative accommodation figures from its guide, not a current room offer or an all-in living budget. Read the guide and request current accommodation rates.

Add food, personal transport where needed, phone/data, books, health insurance, flights, deposits and residence-processing charges. Check which utilities and campus shuttles are included in your rent. Ask for payment dates and refund conditions before paying a deposit.

Admission Process

1. Match your academic profile. For bachelor’s study, check the requirements for your Class 12 board, subjects and marks. For postgraduate study, check degree equivalence and subject prerequisites. Some applicants may need a foundation or integrated freshman route.

2. Prepare the course-specific documents. Collect your passport, transcripts, qualification certificates and accepted English-language evidence. Add a CV, statement, references or portfolio only where the programme asks for them. Confirm any translation, attestation or equivalency requirements with admissions.

3. Apply for the right intake. Deadlines differ by university and programme. For example, Heriot-Watt’s MSc Logistics and Supply Chain Management lists September and January starts. Plan backwards from your chosen start date to allow time for documents, accommodation and residence processing.

4. Review the offer and arrange residence. Check the conditions, net tuition after any award, deposit terms and sponsorship process. The UAE government identifies resident-parent and accredited university/college sponsorship routes for student residence. Compare the final payable tuition rather than the largest advertised percentage. Ask whether an award applies for one year or the whole degree, what grades are needed to retain it and whether it can be combined with another discount. Payment instalments spread the cost; they do not reduce the total fee.

Career Preparation & Work Permission

Build your course shortlist around the roles you want to pursue. For a software pathway, compare technical projects and portfolio opportunities; for logistics, compare supply-chain analysis and applied projects. Ask the university whether an internship is included, optional or competitively allocated, and what support it provides to international students.

A student residence visa does not automatically provide unrestricted work permission. MOHRE has a student training and work-permit service; the applicable process depends on the employer and relevant authority. Confirm authorisation before starting a role.
